Samara Saquib is an Analyst with the Equitable Transitions program at SEI US. She is based in Davis, California.
At SEI, Samara contributes to the development of digital tools and platforms that support environmental research, forecasting and data accessibility. She also supports the Water Program in the development of the Water Evaluation and Adaptation Planning (WEAP) website and related forecasting platforms.
Samara additionally supports SEI’s Fossil Fuel Atlas platform, helping improve access to energy transition data and visualizations for researchers, policymakers and civil society organizations. Her work focuses on building web platforms that make fossil fuel and energy transition information more accessible and actionable.
Samara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Purdue University, with a focus on software engineering, data visualization and information systems. She also completed a minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her past research projects have focused on enhancing accessibility features in software.
Outside of her technical expertise, Samara is deeply committed to advancing equity in technology and empowering underrepresented communities. She founded the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee at Purdue University’s Center for Advocacy and mentored young women interested in STEM fields.
