The Climate Predictability Tool (CPT+) is a software package for constructing a seasonal climate forecast model, performing model validation and producing forecasts given updated data.
Last updated on 18 August 2026
CPT+ is designed to generate seasonal and sub-seasonal forecasts using global weather and climate model predictions as inputs, or using purely empirical methods. It is specifically designed for operational forecasting, but can also be used in research. CPT+ has more than 2500 registered users, including at national forecasting centres throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America, in much of Africa, and parts of Asia.
