The Mistra Arctic Fellowship was aimed at providing an opportunity to link Swedish research on the politics of Arctic change in the Mistra Arctic Sustainable Development Programme (MASD) with activities of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) as an international partner organization. Senior Research Fellow Annika E. Nilsson at Stockholm Environment Institute was engaged as Mistra Arctic Fellow and active as such from June 2016 to August 2017. Activities included a case study of the United States as an Arctic actor and a workshop for emerging leaders from across the world on the theme Arctic Change – Global Challenge, held at the Arctic Centre, Rovaniemi, Finland in August 2017.
