The UK GCRF Living Deltas Hub is a renowned global research initiative collaborating with over 130 experts. We focus on the Red River and Mekong River deltas in Vietnam, and the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna delta in India and Bangladesh.
2019–2024
Our aim is to understand changing livelihoods, explore resilience pathways, and provide climate change mitigation insights by assessing socio-ecological risks, conducting intergenerational research, developing innovative delta management tools, and creating delta-relevant SDG frameworks.
SEI led the SDG Interlinkages Sub-Group, which assisted delta stakeholders and Hub members in mapping out how the different priority targets interact and demonstrating how implementing the SDGs can help achieve the deltas’ sustainability. We focused on the Mekong Delta, specifically the provinces of An Giang, Can Tho, and Ca Mau, representing the high-flooded, freshwater, and saline intrusion zones, respectively.
