Simon Mason

Simon Mason, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist with SEI US.

He is an international award-winning climatologist with more than 35 years of experience. He has worked with the UN, humanitarian agencies, foundations and the private sector across the globe providing his climate expertise. He works closely with the World Meteorological Organization to set and implement international standards in forecasting.

Simon holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from University of Oxford and a Ph.D. in Climatology from University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He most recently served as Chief Climate Scientist at Columbia University’s International Research Institute for Climate and Society. He now resides in Los Angeles.
