SEI is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workplace. We have a zero-tolerance approach towards discrimination and harassment of any kind within our organization as well as externally.
All SEI centres have a responsibility to plan, work with and follow up on equity, gender and diversity issues in ways that embrace the aim and context of this policy and are also responsible for local adaptation to country specific laws and regulations. The policy is guided by international human rights standards, and focus on the following component: human rights, non-discrimination and equal opportunities and follow up.
SEI expects all employees to follow the intentions of the policy and apply its high standards consistently in all SEI deliveries. This includes both to support other colleagues, and when interaction with the wider community.
The work is followed up annually. The result is communicated to the SEI board and all employees and best practices are shared in order to support the intensions of this policy.
At SEI, the impact and quality of our work is a direct result of the skills and commitment of our people and the global Human Resources network, which allows tapping into deep regional expertise.
We nurture this resource through our global people agenda.
SEI’s people agenda is the framework presenting how Human Resources work to support and ensure that SEI constantly evolves as a professional employer with ambitions related to all stages of the HR process:
SEI’s recruitment policy outlines how we undertake fair recruitments that are based on respect for the individual no matter of gender, gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, functional variations, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, political opinion, union affiliation, social background and/or other characteristics protected by national and international law, and which are based on objective and transparent criteria.
Recruitments should be carried out locally and be based on this policy together with related instructions as well as the legislation and conditions of each country.
Beyond its international and multidisciplinary research competence, SEl’s work capacity and expertise is extended through a network of external colleagues who work with – and in the same spirit, as SEI. When mutually desired, the relationship with our external colleagues can be formalized into the honorary position of “SEI Affiliated Researcher”.
SEI’s Affiliated Researcher policy provides guidelines and conditions for appointing SEI Affiliated Researchers, including an agreement template.
SEI recognizes the importance of creating long-term sustainability within the organization, which provides the conditions for job security and needed development.
SEI’s compensation and benefits policy outlines how compensation and benefits shall support the organization’s goal-fulfilment and development as well as opportunities for recruiting, motivating, developing and retaining employees. This includes global principles on how salaries are set and salary adjustments made.
