In this session, USAID will provide an update on its global WASH research agenda, proposed model for research partnership, and the new mechanisms that are exploring them. The proposed model for research depends on partners, local authorities, and local organizations collaborating in the identification, design, execution, and uptake of learning through research.

Key WASH sector stakeholders will then share their experiences with this transformative partnership model and their prioritized thematic areas for future research initiatives. Finally the group will break out into thematic groups to discuss these prioritized themes (e.g. water resources management, area-wide sanitation) and research plans to generate feedback and interest in exploring these collaborations and partnerships.
