The seminar at Kulturhuset in Stockholm on Valentine’s Day will take a new and loving look at how climate and food are interrelated.
In the seminar, organised by Stockholm County Administration (Länsstyrelsen i Stockholms län), Kulturhuset Stockholm and Stockholm Environment Institute, the participants are introduced to some of the most relevant questions surrounding food and climate by focusing on the three main ingredients of jelly heart candy – sugar, gelatin and vegetable oil.
Elin Röös from the Swedish Univeristy of Agricultural Sciences, Jakob Lundberg from the Food and Agricultural Organisation and Louise Karlberg from the Stockholm Environment Institute will present research and insights on a changing climate’s effects on food production in Sweden, the livestock industry’s effect on the climate and some of the implications of using an increasing share of productive land for fuel production. SEI researcher Peter Rudberg will be the moderator of the event.
The seminar is meant to give food for thought as well as food and sweets for the stomach as these issues are discussed in a relaxed atmosphere where participation from the public is encouraged.
