Aminta Estrada Leyva

Aminta Estrada Leyva is a Research Assistant at SEI Latin America, where she supports the Sustainable Transitions research team. Her work focuses on climate change resilience, nature-positive futures, and adaptive governance in multifunctional landscapes, approached through a justice- and gender-oriented lens.

Before joining SEI, Aminta was a Research Assistant at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, coordinating projects on ecosystem-based governance and adaptive conservation strategies aligned with global biodiversity and climate change frameworks. She has also contributed to university teaching, including courses on Social-Ecological Systems (Stockholm University) and Urban Ecological Design for Climate Resilience (National Autonomous University of Mexico – UNAM).

She holds a degree in Biology from UNAM and a master’s in Social-Ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development from Stockholm University. Beyond her professional work, she is an active member of FEM.DES, a global network promoting intersectional feminist perspectives in urban design and planning.
