Charity Waeni Mutisya is a Communications Officer – Engagement at SEI Africa within the communications division.
Since joining SEI Africa in June 2023, Charity has supported research projects through leading external engagement and communications, coordinating events, policy dialogues, and outreach activities while keeping the centre visible at key strategic moments. She writes and edits features, op-eds, talking points, and impact stories for a wide range of audiences and works closely with research teams to translate complex findings into compelling communications. She also supports internal communications and staff capacity building across the centre.
Prior to joining SEI, Charity worked in the Communications unit of UNEP’s Regional Office for Africa, supporting outreach initiatives, crafting messaging on regional environmental issues, and driving awareness through campaigns and stakeholder engagement. She also worked with various Kenyan government parastatals, managing social media engagement and contributing to corporate communications.
Charity holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Daystar University and is currently pursuing a masters in development communications at Daystar University in Kenya.
