2026–2027

In Chad, methane and other short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) are increasingly important drivers of climate change, air pollution, and related development challenges.

In partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Fisheries in Chad, the Climate and Clean Air Coalition and SEI, this project supports the development of a National SLCP Reduction Plan and a National Methane Roadmap. The initiative focuses on strengthening national technical and institutional capacity, improving emissions data and analysis, and identifying cost-effective mitigation actions aligned with national climate commitments and development priorities. Ultimately, the goal is to help Chad advance climate resilience, air quality, public health, and sustainable development through coordinated methane and SLCP mitigation efforts.
