Filippa Ek is a Research Associate at SEI Headquarters. She works on the BONUS RETURN, CoCliME and 3MK projects.

Filippa worked with Mistra EviEM from March 2017 to May 2018 with systematic reviews in projects SR7 (fish recruitments) and SR16 (crop rotation and soil carbon).

Since January 2018 she has been working with BONUS RETURN, focused on wastewater-mapping and systematic reviews. Parallel with those projects she is also involved in CoCliME with a focus on harmful algae blooms in the Baltic Sea and Skagerrak, and how they are affected by climate change. Since June 2018 she is also involved as systematic reviewer in the project Synthesis of multiple knowledge sources on the impacts of mining, “3MK”.

In 2015, Filippa graduated from Stockholm University in Marine Biology. Her MSc thesis focused on the effect of boating activities and berths on macrobenthos in shallow Baltic Sea bays. Her BSc thesis (2013) focused on lobster fishing and the risk of importing American Lobsters in European waters. She has a broad knowledge in biology and is specialised in marine biology. Earlier, she worked as a research- and project associate at Stockholm University and the Baltic Sea Centre and practiced as a water and fish conservationist at Upplandsstiftelsen.
