Are you an experienced digital communicator who understands how to turn science into stories that capture attention, spark curiosity, and inspire action? SEI is looking for a Digital Communications Editor to manage our global social media channels and help communicate our research and insights to diverse audiences.
Become part of our international non-profit research organization and help translate evidence into policy and practice on global environmental and development challenges. At Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), you will be joining a world-leading research institute. Our dynamic and expanding workplace employs around 150 people at a centrally located, activity-based HQ office in Stockholm, with an additional 200 employees in seven centres globally.
The Digital Communications Editor is part of the Communications and Impact Division based at SEI Headquarters. This is a central role where you will support the global organization with curation, editing and writing for the website, social media channels and our monthly newsletter.
Your responsibilities will include managing SEI’s global social media platforms (LinkedIn, Bluesky, Facebook and YouTube) with a focus on user engagement, brand consistency and innovative content creation. You will act as an internal advisor, collaborating with different team members to ensure high-quality content that aligns with our mission and values. This role involves both content creation and curation, alongside implementing effective social media strategies to enhance our SEI’s digital visibility and reputation. You will use analytics and analysis to follow up and report on engagement and impact.
The role may also include supporting colleagues with web publishing on sei.org. You will lead on creating and sending SEI’s monthly newsletter.
You will have a strong interest in sustainability and climate science and be passionate about the importance of communication to drive change. You should enjoy being part of a team, finding innovative solutions while working individually in a structured manner. You must have an eye for detail, be adept at working across digital communications platforms and be happy to juggle different priorities. You will enjoy working in an international setting with people from varied backgrounds and disciplines.
At SEI HQ, we offer a stimulating position in an international environment. You will be part of a leading multinational, multidisciplinary and multilingual team of experts in an organization where the well-being and development of our employees is a high priority. We value diversity and creativity at the core of what we do. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply. Our ambition is to provide a safe, professional and creative workspace for all.
This is an eight-month temporary position at SEI HQ in Stockholm, Sweden. The start date is in December to allow a period of handover.
SEI has a hybrid work environment, which allows employees to share their time between the SEI office and working remotely from their homes in Sweden. As this is a short fixed-term contract, there is not enough time to complete a work permit process before the start date, so it is only open to candidates who already have the right to work in Sweden for the full contract period.
