Kaarel Karolin is a Programme Assistant at SEI Tallinn´s Climate and Energy Programme since October 2022. Kaarel’s work at SEI is linked with climate-related projects. He is also very interested in climatology, weather and weather forecasting, energy transition, carbon cycle and carbon storage possibilities.
Kaarel holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of East Anglia in Environmental Sciences and is currently doing his masters in Climate Change MSc at the University of East Anglia in the UK. His bachelor’s thesis focused on the wind intermittency in potential offshore wind park sites in Estonia and compared the potential output from these locations to electricity demand in Estonia.
In 2021 Kaarel did his internship at SEI Tallinn, working for the ClimVis project and being responsible for the Climate Tool inventory for the project. In addition, Kaarel has previous internship experiences from the Estonian Weather Service, the Ministry of Environment of Estonia, and a private weather forecasting company in the UK called Weatherquest.
