Tayyab Ehsan Butt is an Expert at SEI Tallinn who joined the Climate and Energy Programme in September 2021.
His expertise covers sustainable hydrogen production, hydrogen market analysis, Sector coupling, and Process sustainability. His previous work was related to Power-to-Gas, E-Fuels, and biofuels. He has recently been involved with the hydrogen potential study for Estonia as well as developing the Hydrogen roadmap for Estonia and constructing scenarios for the study on Carbon neutral heating and cooling for the Estonian MEAC.
Tayyab holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Pakistan and a master’s degree in Chemical and Energy Engineering from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg Germany. He did his master’s thesis at Forschungszentrum Julich (one of the largest interdisciplinary research centers in Europe), where he worked on the meta-sustainability analysis of hydrogen production pathways.
