The bioeconomy as a bridge-builder

As part of the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 in Dublin, SEI’s Francis X. Johnson will speak at “The bioeconomy as a bridge-builder: regional networks scaling innovation into impact”, a workshop on how regional networks, innovation ecosystems and public policy can turn local bioeconomy innovation into scalable impact.

20 October 2026 at 16:00 CEST

ending at 17:30 CEST

Dublin, Ireland

Convention Centre Dublin

How can regional and international networks, innovation ecosystems and public policy frameworks work together to turn locally grounded innovation into investable and scalable bioeconomy impact?

This workshop brings together cluster leaders, policymakers and researchers from Europe, Africa and Latin America to explore that question. Two roundtables will look at:

  • how clusters and networks can move innovation from research and demonstration to real-world deployment
  • how regional, national and supranational authorities can align their policies so that bioeconomy solutions can scale.

The workshop is organized by SPRING – the Italian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), BioInnovate Africa/icipe and the Catalonia Bioeconomy Hub (BioHubCat).
