Research areas

SEI Asia’s research teams work in a number of thematic areas, in addition to driving several initiatives and programmes. This work covers climate change (including climate finance and adaptation), gender, water resources management, just energy transitions, city health and wellbeing, and capacity development for research in the Mekong Region. SEI Asia provides strategic communications and policy engagement support that reaches across all of our research areas.

SEI works in close collaboration with our host Chulalongkorn University (CU), Thailand under a long-term agreement towards bridging the gap between academia and action. SEI collaborates, in particular, with the Chulalongkorn University Social Research Institute (CUSRI), and across CU’s faculties, generating critical knowledge, shaping public policies, and securing the resources needed to creating a lasting impact in Thailand and beyond.
