Second Lancang-Mekong regional consultation workshop: building water sector youth leadership network in the Lancang-Mekong Region

Objectives:

• To highlight project achievements, findings, and recommendations for enhancing youth engagement in the Lancang-Mekong Region. 
• To discuss the draft design and the five-year action plan (2025-2029) for the LMC water sector youth leadership network. 
• To finalize the joint statement from the youth leadership network for consideration by the Joint Working Group (JWG) on MLC water resources cooperation. 
• To further strengthen knowledge and capacity of youth leaders from the MLC countries in communications, climate smart technology and innovations, multi-stakeholder engagement, and leadership through collaborative activities, while fostering partnerships among one another. 

Mode of participation:

• 2nd Regional Consultation Workshop during 13 – 15 November 2024: Onsite, the Cavalli Casa Resort, Ayutthaya Province, Thailand

Participants:

About 40-45 people from six Mekong-Lancang Countries, representing following groups.  

• Chinese Embassy, Bangkok, Thailand  

• Key agencies promoting youth engagement in the Mekong-Lancang region.  

• Youth leaders representing six member countries   

• Project implementing agencies including ONWR, ERIC, SEI, and LMC Water Center 

• Project advisors  

• Relevant youth networks in the region e.g. Blue-Net Camp, SUMERNET Young Professionals.
