Background

In collaboration with Niras Sweden AB and WaterAid Rwanda, SEI is presiding over a National Symposium in Rwanda on 22 March 2022. This event will bring together all the Rwandan alumni of the Sida-sponsored International Training Programme (ITP) on Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation – Integrated processes (SUWAS). SEI has supported the SUWAS programme with mentorship and lectures since 2016. SEI Research Fellow Nelson Ekane, the mentor for Rwanda in this programme, will participate in the event.

These events will mark the end of the SUWAS programme in the various countries. They will also provide an opportunity for the SUWAS alumni to present the major outcomes of their individual change projects and reflect on how they can continue sharing and learning within the alumni network.

A similar event will take place on 31 March 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya with SUWAS alumni in Kenya. The mentor for Kenya, SEI Researcher Daniel Ddiba, will participate in the event.
