This side-event aims to initiate a dialogue and increase awareness among Member States and stakeholders on how existing multilateral environmental agreements such as the UNFCCC and the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions could cooperate with the global plastics instrument, which is presently undergoing intergovernmental negotiation. The event aims at providing streamlined actions towards achieving pollution reduction and climate goals.
