Phosphorus is a finite element that is essential to all forms of life. Its sustainable usage and application across agricultural production systems requires greater attention. Balancing the phosphorus cycle within farming systems is crucial to achieve sustainable & resilient livestock farming, to maintain the competitiveness of European agri-food production and to preserve soil and water ecosystems.
In the framework of the ERA-NET project PEGaSus, a stakeholder webinar will take place on 22 April 2021 to discuss current results in phosphorus research dedicated to feeding strategies, animal physiology and genetics, soil agroecosystems, re-use and recycling options, measures of farmers’ economic performance, legislative aspects on manure management, and governance or policy instruments. The webinar will be a strategic exchange between researchers and farmers, breeders, the feed industry, civil society and practitioner organizations, and policy makers.
