Camilo Andrés González

Research Assistant

Camilo is a Research Assistant at SEI Latin America. He supports the execution and visualization of different tools applied in the planning and decision-making processes related to water management.

He received his BA as a Civil Engineer from the Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito. In April 2021, he obtained the double degree of MSc in Water Science and Engineering with a specialization in Hydroinformatics from the IHE Delft – Institute For Water Education UNESCO in the Netherlands, and in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydraulic Resources and Environment from the Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito.

For 3 and a half years he has been involved in projects related to hydrological and hydraulic analysis and modeling in rivers, multitemporal analysis, sediment transport, flood hazard, and risk studies, and road drainage works.

Currently, he is very interested in the importance of the concept of Citizen Science and in the application of AI as a tool in the processes of collection, processing, and integration of qualitative and quantitative data, and its transformation into useful information for comprehensive water management.
