Erika Tšerkašina
Erika Tšerkašina joined SEI Tallinn in October 2024. She works in the Climate Systems and Energy Policy Unit on projects related to energy sustainability and energy resilience.
Erika is a humanitarian and a researcher working to advance access to critical resources for all, with a particular focus on vulnerable social groups. Her work centres on efficient aid mechanisms, resource optimisation, and evidence-based policy-making. She is committed to designing policies and implementation strategies that support both sustainability and social justice.
Erika has a background in development cooperation and interdisciplinary research, and holds an MSc in Global Development from the University of Copenhagen. Her main interests include green and just transition, reduction of energy poverty, and community resilience.
Over the past four years, Erika has focused on emergency response and advancing the green and just transition in Ukraine. She is also dedicated to promoting climate resilience and expanding access to clean energy across Eastern Europe and Central Asia, drawing on more than ten years of experience in the region.
