Climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental degradation, economic inequality and social injustice threaten societies worldwide. ERASuD recognizes the critical role of research and science diplomacy in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future.
The alliance’s mission is to strengthen cooperation between the EU and LMICs in research and innovation for sustainable development through equitable partnerships. It engages actively with the EU to ensure that research and external action recognize the shared interests with partner countries and support joint responses to global challenges.
The alliance is guided by the principles of co-creation, equity, inclusiveness, diversity, ethics, integrity and inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration, which are central to sustainability science.
