Sustainable food systems – SIANI

Are you passionate about sustainable food systems, agroecology and international development? Do you want hands-on experience working with an international team shaping global conversations on food, climate and sustainability? This is your opportunity to join the Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative (SIANI) and the Agriculture, Land and Bioeconomy (AgLaBe) team at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) for an impact-driven internship.

Location

Stockholm, Sweden

Deadline

1 November 2026

Contract details

Six months (January to June 2027)

SIANI is a Sida-funded, multi-sector network dedicated to advancing equal and sustainable food systems. We bring together researchers, practitioners, youth groups and policymakers to share knowledge and accelerate progress towards the SDGs and the Paris Agreement.

The network is hosted by SEI, a world-leading institute working at the intersection of environment, climate, development and policy. As an intern, you’ll be part of SEI’s vibrant international environment, with seminars, expert group exchanges and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

In spring 2027, SIANI and SEI will be deeply engaged in organizing the Agri4D Conference (in collaboration with SLU Global) and contributing to the DevRes Conference. You’ll be part of the team preparing the two conferences.

As an intern, you will support the AgLaBe team and SIANI through:

  • Engagement and networking: connect with members, partners, youth groups and experts across sectors.
  • Knowledge management and communication: help share insights through web stories, social media and community channels.
  • Conference planning and coordination: contribute to organizing Agri4D and SweDev/DevRes – from logistics to program development.
  • Research support: assist ongoing development-related research projects within the team.

This internship offers real-world experience in stakeholder engagement, event organization and development-oriented research.

You’ll bring fresh ideas and valuable capacity to two major international conferences – and gain experience that strengthens your academic and professional journey. You’ll also help deepen collaboration between SIANI, SEI and SLU Global.
