Collaborative field visit on climate-smart agriculture in China: climate-smart water technologies in Hubei

The visit to the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute (CRSRI) in China on 23-24 April 2024 aims to advance climate-smart water technologies and innovations for sustainable water usage in rice production in the Lancang-Mekong Region.

The purpose of the visit was to support knowledge exchange among partners through the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund project “Promoting climate-smart water technologies and innovations for sustainable water resources and rice production under climate change in the Lancang-Mekong Region.”

The primary objective of the visit was to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among the project partners. Experts from various organizations engaged in comprehensive field visits and official meetings, providing in-depth insights into China’s advancements in water management and agricultural practices. The agenda included visits to significant water management facilities and participation in discussions on innovative irrigation techniques, intending to enhance the capacity of Lancang-Mekong countries to manage resources efficiently in the context of climate change.
