Kenya-Sweden Bioeconomy Business and Innovation Fair

Join us in Nairobi and online for the two-day business trade fair that connects Swedish, Nordic, and Kenyan bioeconomy enterprises.

8 to 9 December 2025
Nairobi, Kenya and Online

The Kenya–Sweden bioeconomy business trade fair brings together businesses, researchers, and policymakers from both countries to strengthen collaboration in the bioeconomy sector. The event provides a platform to showcase bio-based products, form partnerships, and explore market and investment opportunities to support sustainable economic development.

The trade fair involves bio-enterprises across four clusters identified in SEI’s Advancing Bioeconomy Development in Kenya (ABDK) project:

  1. Value addition to primary produce and circular food systems: processed and packaged foods, upcycled food products, bio-based materials derived from food by-products, and other products that reduce loss and waste in the food system;
  2. Bio-based agricultural inputs: organic fertilizers, bio-stimulants, biological pest control products, soil enhancers, and other inputs derived from renewable biological resources;
  3. Bio-based industrial development: bio-plastics, bio-based packaging, natural fibre products, industrial materials produced from biomass, and other renewable-resource-based industrial goods;
  4. Sustainable bioenergy: improved cookstoves, biomass briquettes, pellets, biogas units, and other clean, efficient, and renewable bioenergy products.

What to expect:

  • Business exhibitions: Kenyan, Swedish, and Nordic enterprises will exhibit market-ready products across the four clusters:
  • Policy and market insights: SEI researchers and partners will share evidence on trends in bio-based production and trade.
  • Matchmaking sessions: B2B meetings to support business founders in connecting and exploring partnerships and investment opportunities.
  • Networking sessions: Connect with entrepreneurs, investors, research institutions, and policymakers in the bioeconomy.
