Transport climate action in Nigeria: planning and accessing finance workshop

This Nigeria-based workshop helps private transport businesses overcome barriers to reducing emissions, including rising costs and knowledge gaps. Focused on practical capacity building, it equips participants with technical and financial skills to turn climate ambitions into realistic action.

24 to 27 March 2026

Reducing emissions is widely recognized as beneficial, yet many private transport businesses face significant barriers – including rising operating costs, limited resources, knowledge gaps and evolving regulations. Our program provides practical support to help you take climate action that benefits both your business and the environment.

The year-long program is free to access and includes webinars, workshops and one-to-one expert support. You will build an understanding of your emissions, improve access to funding opportunities and develop tailored plans to make your business greener, more inclusive and more sustainable.

The program is open to transport-related private businesses based in Abuja or Enugu and includes 12 months of ongoing support.

The workshop is one in a series of capacity building training on several topics in relation to climate action. The workshop shifts the focus from dialogue in the introductory session and awareness raising towards practical capacity development. It is designed to equip participants with the technical and financial knowledge needed to move from ambition to implementation.

Agenda highlights:

Day one: The foundations for climate action planning

  • Core components of climate action planning
  • Identifying mitigation opportunities
  • Data – where to find it, how to collect it
  • Implementation considerations – inclusive planning, regulations, financial barriers

 Day two: Financing climate action

  • Understanding of benefits and opportunities of climate-aligned investments
  • Accessing climate finance
