The OSCAR project invites young people aged 15–30 from Estonia, France, Greece, Malta and Spain to create short videos, posters, or information leaflets to raise awareness about electrical and electronic waste, also known as e-waste.
One winner will be selected from each country and awarded a fully funded trip to the OSCAR Final Conference in Estonia. The winner from Estonia will get to join a project event in another partner country (Spain, Greece, Malta, or France) where they will present their competition entry and learn more about e-waste. From the five national winners, one overall winner will be chosen, who will receive an additional prize of €100.
The submission deadline is 31 March 2026.
To apply, choose one of the following formats and submit it to the competition:
Explain an e-waste problem.
Show how to properly recycle e-waste.
Demonstrate repairing a device or creating something new from it (upcycling).
“Where to recycle e-waste in my city?”
“Five main toxic components in your phone”
“What happens if you throw a charger in the bin?”
recycling instructions,
the journey of e-waste,
tips for responsible purchasing.
Regardless of the format, each participant must also submit an A4 document in English explaining why they chose to tell this particular story and how it could influence or motivate their peers toward more sustainable consumption and handling of electrical and electronic devices.
The application form is available on the OSCAR website. Read more and submit your work here.
The OSCAR project aims to develop a novel digital training hub. The hub offers youth trainers a range of training resources to empower and motivate young people to adopt sustainable behaviours and make informed choices about the consumption and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), thereby reducing electronic waste and its environmental impact. In addition, OSCAR highlights the opportunities in the green technology sector, inspiring youth to explore career paths and entrepreneurial ventures related to the sustainability of EEE.
To achieve this aim, the following objectives have been set in the project:
SEI Tallinn contributes to the project by creating a Green Guide inspired by the European Green Deal, which is designed to familiarize project partners with sustainable practices. The Green Guide will serve several purposes:
