SEI at the Swedish political week in Almedalen 2023

This year, close to 2100 public events will occur during the political week in Almedalen, Visby. SEI will contribute its research expertise to 14 events; all are open to the public and some will be live-streamed.

SEI Deputy Director Åsa Persson will lend her expertise at four public events on finance and aid, a green and just transition, new societal demands and artificial intelligence, organized by Sida, Google, the Nordic Council of Ministers, two embassies and other stakeholders.

Dr Persson will also share findings from the UN Global Sustainable Development Report at a roundtable organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden.

Mistra Geopolitics research experts will share their expertise at several public events on the overlooked opportunities of climate change action, governance for sustainable development with responsible AI and Sweden’s blue economy, featuring Professor Björn-Ola Linnér, Professor Fredrik Heintz and Dr. Karina Barquet.

LeadIT will together with partners and industry take part in a panel discussion on the co-solutions for the hard-to-abate industry sector be part of the Sweden-India stakeholders roundtable on the green transition and discuss sustainable change – both organized by Engage India@Almedalen.

SIANI will share their expertise by hosting two public events on supporting people in conflict and addressing the global food crisis, featuring Linus Dagerskog, Madeleine Fogde and Alice Tunfjord.

The political week, Sweden’s largest democracy gathering, will occur from 27 June to 1 July, with all Swedish political parties represented.

Protracted crises – how do we bridge funding imbalances and engage emerging actors?
