Communications

Camilo is the Communications Specialist for SEI Latin America. He leads SEI’s social media strategy in Spanish the production of audiovisual products and content creation for SEI’s global digital channels. He supports the publication of key reports and broader outreach activities led by the communications team. He also advises researchers on engagement and impact strategies. Camilo holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in development (C4D) and education from the Universidad de Cartagena and is a Meta-certified digital marketing associate.

Before joining SEI, Camilo worked for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) supporting communications and knowledge management activities of the UNDP/GEF Caribbean and North Brazil Shelf Large Marine Ecosystems (CLME+) project. His background also includes research experience in projects related to the social impact of mass media, social appropriation of knowledge, community development, social change, and more recently the use of communication for increasing citizens’ contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Camilo is passionate about facilitating development through a combination of participatory activities in the field and digital platforms. He is a current member of the Communication for Development (C4D) network, a global community of professionals working in C4D.
