Cláudia is a Research Associate at SEI Latin America. She has over 7 years of experience in water resources management and environmental governance in different geographical regions and in collaboration with interdisciplinary and multicultural teams.

At SEI, Cláudia provides technical and scientific support in the implementation of strategies and projects related to water governance, data science, participatory and decision-making processes in watershed planning and mainstreaming gender and social equity in water management across different countries and geographies in Latin America, such as Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia and the Amazon Basin. She interacts with stakeholders from multilateral agencies, government institutions, academia, private actors, local communities and civil society. In 2021, Cláudia won the Green Talents Award, promoted annually by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the framework of the International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development.

Prior to joining SEI, Cláudia worked for 3 years in the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí (PCJ) river basins, Southeast Brazil, with the implementation of water and sanitation projects and ecosystem services financed with water charges at the Federal level. She also developed work related to the synergies and trade-offs between Natural Climate Solutions and the UN SDGs.

Cláudia holds an MBA in Data Science from the University of São Paulo (2021-2022), an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management from the University of Oxford (2017-2018) with a Louis Dreyfus Foundation/Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust full scholarship. She holds a degree in Environmental Management from the University of São Paulo – Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture (2011-2015), including a one-year Science Without Borders (CAPES/Institute of International Education) scholarship at Indiana University Bloomington (2012-2013), USA, with a focus on Natural Resources Management and Policy.
