Cristo Facundo Pérez holds the position of Research Assistant at SEI Latin America. He supports research and application developments related to water resources planning and decision making.
Cristo is fascinated by issues that intertwine environment and development. For over 4 years he has been involved in different types of projects to provide a great understanding of how to use groundwater resources and treated wastewater to deal with water scarcity and droughts from technical, social and environmental perspectives. He also has practical experience in agricultural water management and water quality evaluation. Currently, his research focuses on water management and governance, planning and use of hydro-informatics tools to support decisions. Other areas of interests are participatory modelling and serious gaming.
Cristo is an agricultural engineer and holds an MSc degree in Water Management at UNESCO-IHE, Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands. During his MSc research thesis, he analysed groundwater management practices to deal with droughts and water scarcity.
