Frans Sjolander

Frans Sjölander is a Project manager at SEI Headquarters, working in the Water, Coasts, & Ocean Team, under the Societies, Climate, and Policy Support division.

Frans’ main field of work at SEI is the blue economy and he is currently working in projects related to ocean governance and ecosystem-based management processes. In these projects Frans focuses on project development and management, including formulation of concepts and proposals as well as project monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Frans also works with stakeholder engagement and other research related tasks.

Frans joined SEI from a consultancy firm where he worked as a sustainability consultant and supported clients in various industries in relation to sustainability strategy, reporting and corporate governance. Frans’ also has extensive experience from advising companies on the implementation of the EU Taxonomy on Sustainable Activities.

Frans holds a B.Sc. in business administration from Stockholm University and a M.Sc. in environmental science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. For his master’s thesis he explored the concept of social acceptability in relation to a marine protected area in Sweden.
