This CGIAR publication, co-authored by SEI US Centre Director Ed Carr, describes a detailed analysis of CGIAR climate adaptation research from 2012 to 2023 and how this research connects adaptation policies and actions to specific goals in an attempt to measure the effectiveness of adaptation efforts.
Little comprehensive research exists to fully characterize whether global adaptation actions and policies have been effective in achieving their expected outcomes.
This protocol takes a first step toward filling that gap by reviewing a 10-year period of adaptation-related CGIAR research. This effort categorizes the research by topics covered and then explores the extent to which the adaptation actions examined achieved their intended goals or benefits.
