Little comprehensive research exists to fully characterize whether global adaptation actions and policies have been effective in achieving their expected outcomes.

This protocol takes a first step toward filling that gap by reviewing a 10-year period of adaptation-related CGIAR research. This effort categorizes the research by topics covered and then explores the extent to which the adaptation actions examined achieved their intended goals or benefits.
