Date: Wednesday 6th June 2018 at 12 noon to 5 pm

Location: Think Tank Hub in Geneva (WMO Building, Avenue de la Paix 7BIS, Geneva, Switzerland)

Language: The event will be held in English

This brainstorming workshop will be the first step at setting up the network of combining research in food waste and citizen science. Therefore, we are seeking people who would be interested in developing a proposal using citizen science to explore food waste. The overall goal is to come up with a concept note and ultimately a proposal for such research. The details of this  are partly determined in the workshop and finalised after the workshop.

The workshop’s goals are:

  • Creating a new international network around food waste and citizen science
  • Brainstorming new research questions in food waste studies that could be answered using citizen science
  • Developing potential food waste citizen science project ideas
  • Discussing funding opportunities

If you cannot join personally at the workshop, it will possible to join via Skype. If that is not possible either, you can send us your contact details and stay in the information loop, also after the workshop.

This workshop follows the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) annual conference held in Geneva on 3-5th of June.
