      Nhilce is a Research Associate at SEI Headquarters – Governance and Institutions Unit.

      Prior to joining SEI, Nhilce worked for 3 years as external hydrologist consultant for the National Water Commission of Mexico, developing  projects related to Flood Risk Management, Hydraulic and Hydrological Modelling, GIS and Weather Data Analysis. She is a youth advocate collaborating with different NGOs and coordinating the Disaster Risk Reduction thematic groups Water Youth Network.

      Her interests lay in environmental resources preservation, water resources management, the inclusion of technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction, climate change, sustainable cities and Nature Based Solutions.

      Nhilce holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Technological Institute of Chetumal and an MSc in Water Science and Engineering with a major in Flood Risk Management awarded by Unesco IHE (Institute for Water Education) in 2016. Her Master thesis focused on developing a Multi-benefit assessment of blue and green infrastructure to monetary quantify the benefits of such infrastructure by making use of different tools.
