The project has three components. SEI has been commissioned to:
- develop a global baseline that outlines the gaps in needed support that must be filled to expand and speed up action on the SDGs at the local level. The baseline will include selected case studies from around the world. Researchers will also outline global issues that affect local-level progress.
- develop a 10-year strategy for the Local2030 Coalition, a UN-led platform and network designed to support and accelerate local-level delivery of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 component SDGs.
- conduct a participatory consultation process, including workshops and interviews, to inform the baseline and the strategy.
The project involves the participation of researchers in SEI Africa, Asia, Headquarters and Latin America.
