Daniela Maestre is a Research Assistant at SEI Latin America. Her work focuses on supporting the center’s research on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prior to this role, she received the Honorary Graduate Teaching Assistant Scholarship to pursue her Master’s studies at the Universidad de Los Andes. She holds a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Development Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Languages and Sociocultural Studies from the University of Los Andes.
She has experience as a research assistant on mining closure governance and environmental justice. Her areas of interest include alternatives to development, political ecology, community-based conservation, just transitions, and sustainability.
Daniela combines her academic and professional background with a passion for collaborative and place-based approaches in rural planning to achieve more just and sustainable social orders.
